Frequently Asked Questions
From complete restorations to custom finishes, here are some of the questions we hear most often about our paint and bodywork.
What types of vehicles do you paint?
We specialize in classic cars, hot rods, restomods, custom trucks and high-end automotive projects. Every project is evaluated individually so we can determine the right process for the vehicle and the finish you're trying to achieve.
Do you offer complete vehicle paint jobs?
Yes. We handle complete exterior refinishing as well as extensive restoration and custom paint projects. Depending on the build, this can include disassembly, bodywork, panel correction, blocking, primer, paint, clear coat and final finishing.
Can you repair rust and damaged body panels?
Yes. Proper paint starts with proper metal and bodywork. Our team can repair rust, replace damaged panels, correct body lines and prepare the vehicle before the paint process begins.
Can you match an original factory color?
Absolutely. We can work with factory color codes and modern paint systems to recreate original finishes, or help develop a completely custom color specifically for your build.
Do you do custom paint colors?
Yes. Custom color development is one of the most exciting parts of building a unique vehicle. We can help select or develop a finish that works with the vehicle's design, wheels, interior and overall character.
How long does automotive paint and bodywork take?
Every project is different. The timeline depends heavily on the condition of the vehicle, the amount of metal and bodywork required, the paint system and the level of finish being requested. After evaluating your project, we can give you a better understanding of the scope and expected process.
How much does a custom paint job cost?
Pricing varies significantly because no two custom vehicles require the same amount of preparation. Existing paint, rust, previous repairs, panel condition and the desired finish all affect the cost. Contact our team with information about your vehicle and we can discuss the project with you.
Can I bring you a vehicle that is already disassembled?
Potentially, yes. Because every build is different, contact us before bringing the vehicle in. We'll review what has already been completed and determine the best way to move forward with the project.
How do I get started?
Start by contacting Rods N Mods and telling us about your vehicle, its current condition and what you want the finished car to look like. Photos are extremely helpful. From there we can discuss the project and determine the next step.
