About Us

Here at Rods N Mods in St. George, Utah, we do not just restore classic cars; we re-engineer vintage steel into un-compromised, modern-day supercars. We are a premier builder of award-winning hot rods and concourse-level Restomods. Our clients expect turn-key reliability, massive horsepower, and absolute perfection down to the last bolt. To achieve that standard, the electrical foundation of our builds must be as flawless as our paint and fabrication.

The Role

We are looking for a top-tier Automotive Wiring Technician to join the crew. In the Restomod world, a build is only as good as its wiring. You can have a perfectly executed LS or Coyote builds, but if the wiring is a messy nest of crimped connectors, the car will not perform.

In this role, you will be the mastermind behind the electrical nervous system of our custom builds. We need an electrical specialist who can seamlessly integrate modern technology like advanced EFI systems, digital dashes, and electronic climate control into 70-year-old steel without leaving a single wire out of place. Your work needs to be clean, tucked, routed flawlessly, and bulletproof.

What You Will Do

  • Custom Harnesses: Build, route, and perfectly loom complete custom chassis harnesses from scratch, ensuring every wire is hidden, protected, and routed away from heat sources.
  • Modern Powertrain Integration: Wire and integrate modern engine management systems (Holley EFI, GM Performance, Ford Control Packs) for high-horsepower engine swaps.
  • Restomod Upgrades: Install and wire modern amenities into classic dashes, including Vintage Air climate control, Dakota Digital gauges, power windows, push-button starts, and premium audio systems.
  • Precision Terminations: Ensure every single connection is properly soldered, heat-shrunk, or terminated with high-end weather-pack and Deutsch connectors. No cheap butt-connectors allowed.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Expertly chase down electrical gremlins, parasitic draws, and grounding issues in both vintage original wiring and modern aftermarket systems.

What We Are Looking For

  • Specialized Experience: A strong background specifically in custom automotive wiring, high-performance engine swaps, and restomod electrical systems. (Basic car audio installation experience is not enough).
  • Fanatical Cleanliness: You must have an obsessive attention to detail. Wires must be routed cleanly, loomed perfectly, and completely hidden wherever possible to maintain a concourse-level engine bay.
  • Schematic Mastery: The ability to read, interpret, and modify complex electrical schematics to make vastly different systems communicate with each other.
  • A Team Player: You will work directly alongside our mechanics, fabricators, and body team to ensure wiring paths are planned early and integrated seamlessly into the final build.

Why Join Rods N Mods?

We are building some of the most highly anticipated classic cars and trucks in the country. When you wire a vehicle in our bay, your work will be the invisible force keeping a high-end machine running perfectly. Your builds will be documented by our media team, showcased at major national events, and driven hard by clients who expect the absolute best.

Ready to bring classic steel to life? Send your resume and a portfolio showcasing your cleanest wiring and harness routing to the Rods N Mods team today.
