About Us
Here at Rods N Mods in St. George, Utah, we engineer classic metal into modern supercars. We are not a quick-turn collision or insurance repair shop. We are a premier builder of award-winning hot rods and concourse-level restomods. We are known across the West for our uncompromised execution, and we hold our paint and bodywork to the absolute highest standard in the industry.
The Role
We are looking for a top-tier Auto Body & Custom Paint Technician to join our crew. The paint is the very first thing people see, and we refuse to let a single build leave our facility with anything less than a flawless, mirror-like finish.
In this role, you will be the final line of quality control for our vehicles' aesthetics. You will be responsible for bringing our high-end builds to life, which means everything from executing ground-up, concourse-level paint on custom hot rods to fixing bad paint jobs and wavy bodywork inherited from shops that simply couldn't meet the standard.
What You Will Do
- Professional Level Execution: Execute complete, ground-up auto body prep and custom paint for high-end Restomods and Award-winning hot rods.
- The Art of the Block: Perform meticulous, hundreds-of-hours-level block sanding to achieve laser-straight panels with absolutely zero waves.
- Bare Metal Prep: Take projects down to bare steel, ensuring the foundation is flawless before a single drop of primer hits the metal.
- Flawless Finishes: Mix and spray factory-correct classic colors, modern high-metallic custom blends, and unforgiving blacks without runs or heavy orange peel.
- Paint Correction: Expertly handle fixing bad paint jobs, taking over stalled projects, and correcting the hidden flaws left behind by other builders.
- The Final Polish: Execute rigorous color sanding, cutting, and buffing to achieve a pure, glass-like reflection on every vehicle.
- Team Collaboration: Work directly alongside Robbie and the fabrication team to ensure a seamless transition between custom metalwork and the final paint booth.
What We Are Looking For
- Proven Experience: A strong background in high-end, custom automotive paint and restoration (standard collision repair experience is not enough).
- Fanatical Attention to Detail: You must possess the patience and eye required for concourse-level perfection. If you are okay with "good enough," this is not the shop for you.
- A Solid Portfolio: We want to see your previous work, specifically showcasing your ability to lay down flawless dark colors and mirror finishes.
- A Team Player: You must thrive in a collaborative shop environment where the builders, fabricators, and the creative/videography team are all working together to showcase the final product to the world.
Why Join Rods N Mods?
