The Final Countdown: Vote Travis Milton’s ’56 Ford F100 for Goodguys Truck of the Year!
Share
We are officially in the final stretch! Twelve incredible trucks were selected, but only one can take the crown. Travis Milton’s custom 1956 Ford F100, built right here at Rods N Mods in St. George, Utah, is a finalist for the Goodguys 2026 Truck of the Year Early presented by LMC Truck.
The winner will be announced on October 9th, which means we are down to the final days to get those votes in. If you haven't voted yet, we need your help to bring this title home!
Not Just a Show Truck: Built to be Driven
When we set out to build this light gray ’56, the goal wasn't just to create a flawless showpiece to park on a carpet. A true hot rod is meant to hit the pavement.
To prove it, we didn't put this truck on a trailer for the Goodguys Colorado show we drove it over 1,000 miles under its own power. Then, Travis took it straight to the autocross course and threw it around the cones. Backed by a Chevrolet Performance LS3 pushing 525 horsepower, a complete Speedtech Performance chassis, massive Wilwood brakes, and a stunning set of forged Forgeline DS3 wheels, this big window F100 corners and accelerates like a modern sports car.
Uncompromising Custom Fabrication
Every inch of this truck showcases the elite metalwork and fabrication our shop is known for.
- The Engine Bay: We took the engine bay from raw metal to a perfectly shaved, seamlessly tucked masterpiece. We even fired up the CNC mill to machine custom billet aluminum filler panels to perfectly frame the modern powerplant.
- The Bed: Out back, the truck features flush-mounted custom dark wood bed slats, divided by stainless steel bed strips that we hand-cut, shaped, and polished using our Baileigh Industrial equipment.
- The Interior: Built for the long haul, the cabin features a bespoke interior by Ceballos Customs. We fabricated a custom center console to house a modern Sony floating display, Apple CarPlay, and a wireless charging pad, all surrounded by heavily bolstered black leather seats with custom patterned inserts.
How You Can Help Us Win!
We are incredibly proud to be part of the Goodguys Quest for 12, but we want to win it all. The competition is tough, but we know this '56 has what it takes.
